SWIC250 Impact Roller Compactor for Jordan

Two impact compactors have loaded into container and will left Shanghai port for Jordan in the Middle East. SINOWAY SWIC250 is a 3-sided impact compactor with 25kj energy power. Traditionally, compaction equipment for road construction has consisted of static weight rolling or vibratory rolling of the soil to achieve the specified improvement in bearing strength. In some cases, however, such as the compaction of sand subgrades in arid regions, it was found that compaction of the in situ subgrades was problematic due to the inadequate energy output of traditional compaction equipment to compact the relatively dry sands in depth, or to break the inter-particle bonds of collapsible sands. This has led to the development of the three-sided Impact Compactor based on the principle of high energy and amplitude.

High energy impact compaction (HEIC for short) relies on a drum to impact the ground, transmitting high-energy impacts and compacting the ground. The steel double drum has a cam (3-sided) or pentagonal (5-sided) shape. During the rollers rotation process, the weight of different double drum components is usually between 10 and 15 tons, and a drop height of up to 230 mm is used.

By repeatedly and systematically applying high energy to compact soil using specially shaped heavy-duty (non circular) double drum impact roller components. The energy imparted is transmitted from the surface to deeper soil layers through the propagation of shear and compression waves, thereby rearranging soil particles, forcing them into a denser state while expelling the largest voids. The optimal speed of the HEIC process at 12 kilometers per hour is crucial to ensure the effective transmission of applied energy.

The typical benefits of using HEIC,

The increase in operating speed, combined with thicker lifting and compaction, makes the compaction volume of the impact compactor 10 times larger than traditional equipment.

According to the different materials, the effective improvement depth of HEIC can be as deep as 3m to 5m below the surface.

Due to the enormous impact energy of impact rollers, the optimal moisture content required for different types of soil can be reduced by 3% -5% in two directions, thereby alleviating the requirement for moisture content in building materials.

With the use of such a continuous three-sided impact roller, the thickness of each layer of fill can reach 1.0-1.2m, in other words, more than 3000 m3 - 4000m3 of fill can be compacted per hour, to largely improve the construction efficiency. As for an ordinary vibrating roller, when the soil layer is thicker than 300mm, the compaction effects will be noticeably reduced, while the compaction depth of an impact compactor will be significantly increased as the rolling operation continues. With the increasing of the density, its influence depth will be also increased. Reduction in asphalt thicknesses due to increased bearing strength achieved through deep in-situ compaction and improved compaction of layers.

High energy impact compactor excels at crushing large rocks with sharp edges, addressing issues related to tip heads, tailing dam walls, and waste dumps. The enormous impact of an impact compactor roller acts upon the rock fill, and the magnificent impact wave energy may largely increase the locking intensity among rock particles, so as to reduce the deformation due to settlement and the difference of settlement of the embankment, thus loosening strict requirements on the granularity of the fill.
